Of the many hotels in the world reputed to be haunted, one that stands out for us in particular is the Adolphus Hotel. Built in 1912, this hotel in Dallas, Texas offers visitors a bit of a bump in the night. We here at Pixel-Bricks are firm believers in the afterlife and have a keen interest in all things paranormal and the 'Adolphus Hotel Ghost' is no exception. You yourself are probably here because you're either interested in the local history of Dallas or you, like us, are interested in the paranormal. Either that or you're soon to be spending a night in the Adolphus hotel and want to know what to expect. We're sure you'll find something interesting here if you are interested for any of these reasons.
It should be noted that there is not just one Adolphus Hotel ghost; reports from visitors make it clear that their experiences are that of being aware of group activity, on the whole. The best example of this is what has been experienced on the 19th floor of the hotel, supposedly the most haunted area of the whole hotel. A common complaint from visitors to hotel staff is that they are being woken by noises. At first, the visitors don't expect it to be anything ghostly; often times they are woken simply by the noise of someone running down the corridors outside of their bedroom or by the distant sound of a band playing music. Imagine their surprise when they are told by staff that, after sending security guards to check, that no one is there making the noise. Even more unnerving is the fact that the music they can hear sounded like it was coming from a band or sometimes a piano is playing, presumably playing in a ballroom to a large audience. It is therefore a chilling thought that a ballroom did once exist on the 19th floor of the Adolphus Hotel but it has long since been removed. Are the visitors being woken by echoes from the past?
Aside from these events, there have been many other reported ghosts in the hotel. A maid was once cleaning a room in the hotel, only to be tapped on the shoulder by unseen hands. Windows have flown open on still days, doors have been seen and heard to be slammed, there's even an archetypal white lady. Let's face it, no ghost story is complete without one and it's almost become a cliché but to see this ghost would undoubtedly make you take a more serious view of the matter. She is said to be a bride that was left at the alter. As a result, she hanged herself within the hotel where the wedding was meant to have taken place.
The amount of reports of the 'Adolphus Hotel Ghost' is staggering. Sceptics will always find a reason to try to explain events such as those witnessed within the hotel but with so many eye witness reports from so many different people over many years, can these reports really be dismissed so readily? It's your own decision to make on whether you believe or not but we firmly believe that there's something still in the Adolphus Hotel, ghost or not. If you're planning a stay at this marvellous hotel, don't be put off by these stories but make sure you take a camera with you; you never know what you might see.
